Following this philosophy, MARU SANKARU PEKE creates new garments, building on classics. The young label gives a unique face to a Type II Jacket from the 60s, combining materials and adding patchwork elements by hand. Inspiration is found in vintage French workwear and Japanese culture, from antique kimonos to traditional craftsmanship. In particular, it's the patched, repaired vintage pieces that have caught the designer's attention. Beyond the utility of preserving a garment, of making it wearable, each patch, each stitch added later, gives individuality to the most universal garment.
