The "Hinode-Awa" series by Studio D'Artisan is a tribute to the deep-rooted Japanese color tradition full of symbolism and warmth. To mark its 45th anniversary, Studio D'Artisan has created a denim fabric that carries the soul of Japanese colors by combining powerful indigo with vibrant madder red in a unique way.
The warp, dyed with natural indigo, is hand-dyed using the traditional "Awa-Sei Aizome" method and undergoes about 30 washing cycles to achieve a deep and harmonious color. The weft is dyed with the vegetable dye madder red, a technique known in Japan for centuries. This bright red harmonizes perfectly with the deep blue of the indigo.
