The "SC39734 5.25oz Indigo Plaid Work Shirt" from Sugar Cane is based on historical workwear fabrics, reinterpreting their typical materiality and construction.
The plaid pattern is created from a mix of indigo, yellow, and unbleached yarns in the warp, and indigo and unbleached nep yarn in the weft. This gives the fabric depth, structure, and a slightly uneven surface.
Classic workwear elements define the design: two chest pockets, side vents, and metal cat-eye style buttons with a deliberately aged surface. A union ticket is placed on the inside of the placket as a historical detail.
Part of Sugar Cane's "Fiction Romance" line, the shirt combines documented vintage elements with its own interpretation of functional workwear.
