The "9.5 oz Basic T-Shirt" from Nigel Cabourn is only basic in name. Classic in shape, yet far superior in material.

At 9.5 oz, the jersey knit is unusually heavy for a T-shirt.
Made from open-end yarn, spinning with air creates a voluminous, slightly irregular yarn. This results in a firm, dry surface with a noticeable texture.

The surface remains airy, regulates moisture, and feels especially comfortable in warm temperatures.

It is pigment-dyed. The color sits on the fiber instead of completely penetrating it. Over time, this creates a vibrant, slightly washed-out look.

The construction follows functional examples.
Raglan sleeves provide more freedom of movement and originate from military and sports designs. The chest pocket adds a classic utility detail to the shirt.
