The Buzz Rickson Camo Parka, named after its designer, artist and former Marine Meldon Mitchell, brings 1950s US military design to the streets. The Mitchell camouflage pattern was originally developed only for tents and helmet covers—never officially intended for jackets or pants. However, during the Vietnam War, a few locally manufactured pieces emerged, handcrafted and extremely rare.
There's a little secret in the fabrics: They were printed on both sides – a green "Jungle" side for the foliage, a brown "Desert" side for the sand. Just like the famous WWII "Frogskin" camouflage, which was also reversible.
The "BR15519 Mitchell Camouflage Parka Civilian Model" from Buzz Rickson's takes an original as its model and brings it back with absolute attention to detail.
