SUN SURF – the epitome of the Hawaiian shirt. The brand is dedicated entirely to the legendary rayon aloha shirts from the golden era of the 1930s to 1950s. Since the 1970s, SUN SURF has been collecting and studying historical originals, reissuing them with great attention to detail and respect for the original.
"Hele Mai E" – that means "Come here" in Hawaiian. And that's exactly what this shirt does: It draws you into another era. The design comes from the Japanese manufacturer Pacific Sportswear, which was founded under Kenichi Tanaka in the 1930s and, along with brands like Malihini, helped shape the aloha shirt market in the 1950s.
The pattern is reminiscent of classic lining fabrics—a dense mix of symbols: King Kamehameha, hula girls, and island motifs. A true chapusui design, packed with Hawaiian history and a vintage feel.
