Craftsmanship, history, and character – it's all contained in this tiny piece of brass. The Dormouse Keyring is cast in England using the lost-wax casting method, from solid brass. Beforehand, the design – the shape of a sleeping dormouse – was meticulously crafted from jewelry wax by Tender's goldsmith.

Dormice sleep for almost half the year and were already known as a delicacy to the Romans. Their name probably comes from the Old Norse and Middle English *dár-mous* , meaning "benumbed mouse." Each key ring carries this story with it – a small, living piece of nature and craftsmanship in one.

After casting, the pendant is carefully demolded, filed, and polished. It receives no lacquer or sealant, allowing it to develop its own patina over time and gain even more character. The surface is polished in a vibrating marble chip bath, making every edge and contour tangible.
