The "SD-4101E Denim Jacket" by STUDIO D'ARTISAN is based on the classic Type-1 silhouette, taking on the early form of the denim jacket in a Japanese interpretation.

It is made from 15oz slubby selvedge denim. The denim is woven from heavily irregularly spun No.7 Super Slub Yarn and shows a distinct, rough structure with a lot of depth in the weave. On the GL3 shuttle loom, the low weaving tension creates a deliberately uneven, lively fabric appearance.

The GL3 looms are direct descendants of the historical G and G3 looms, which are considered the origin of Japanese selvedge denim. Slow operation, high control, and a lot of manual work in the setup characterize the fabric's nature.
