The "Japanese Quaint Design" Hawaiian shirt by SUN SURF combines early 1950s Aloha aesthetics with traditional Japanese patterns. Snow rings and fans symbolize the changing seasons and the hope for a good harvest, complemented by carp, horses, and cranes as classic motifs.

The design is based on patterns from LIBERTY HOUSE department stores from the late 1950s, a time when Japanese ornamentation and Hawaiian shirt culture closely intertwined.

The shirt is made in Japan from lightweight Rayon Kabe Crepe. The fabric drapes softly and features a slightly textured surface. The all-over print is created using an overprint process, layering the motifs in clear, distinct levels.
