THE REAL McCOY'S' "Neckerchief, Man's, Knitted" is based on a piece that found its way into the US Army's equipment during the Vietnam War. Inspired by Australian combat units who relied on absorbent cotton cloths, it was developed from T-shirt material, dyed in OG (Olive Green), and manufactured using a robust double-knit technique.

It was first tested by the Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol of the 1st Infantry Division in the jungles of Vietnam – with a clear result: It kept sweat at bay, provided shade in the sun, and protection from insects at night.

A simple piece of fabric that became indispensable in combat – and today an authentic detail from the history of the Combat Uniform.
