The "Michael" shoe by Paraboot was designed in 1945 by the second generation of Richard Pontverts, shortly after the end of the war. In a time of material shortages, the focus was on the essentials: two eyelets, a sturdy, narrow lace, durable leather with reinforced seams, a thick insole, and a durable rubber sole.
The name, in keeping with the fashion of the time, was inspired by Michel Richard, the current chairman – Michel became Michael, and the shoe established its place in history. Simple and timeless, a design that has stood the test of time over the decades.
“Norwegian Welt Construction”, a particularly robust and waterproof shoe construction in which the upper leather is connected to the sole by a double seam.
