The "MS25002 OG-107 Utility Shirt "Imjin Scouts"" by The Real McCoy's is based on the classic US Army uniform shirt – simple, functional, and deeply interwoven with the history of the Korean War.
John Lennon also wore a shirt like this in the early '70s—a gift from a US soldier who had served in Korea. Worn as is. With a patch.
The shirt refers to a special episode: In 1965, the 2nd U.S. Infantry Division was deployed to Korea again—a good ten years after the official ceasefire. Its mission: constant readiness and reconnaissance along the demilitarized zone—in an area that could tip over at any moment.
"Imjin Scouts" was the unofficial title for the soldiers who undertook these dangerous patrols around the Imjin River. Those who passed the test proudly wore the badge on their chests—as shown here, with an embroidered patch on the right pocket.
