In the mid-1950s, after the Korean War, the L-2B flight jacket emerged—lightweight, functional, and made of nylon. Particularly noteworthy is the red version, which appeared in photos of the F-89 interceptor test squadron: red shell, black cuffs, and a close-fitting design similar to the later MA-1.

During this time, the US Air Force invested enormous sums in the development of modern interceptors. The red jackets were part of the presentation of this new generation of fighter jets. Only a few examples were produced at the time for promotional purposes or as prototypes – correspondingly rare and now almost a military-historical curiosity.

Buzz Rickson's is now bringing back the rare "Red L-2B Scorpion Jacket" in its original form.
