The "Sashiko Umps Pants" by Jackman pick up on an unusual historical detail: in the early years of baseball in Japan, bases were made from Sashiko fabric – a material that originally came from the Budō field and is known for its robust, structured surface.

For these trousers, such a fabric was newly developed. Heavily twisted cotton yarn is processed on special looms into a distinctly structured Sashiko fabric. The striking surface is deliberately preserved and gives the material depth and character.

Through a combination of paraffin wax treatment and bio-wash, the fabric becomes more supple and comfortable to wear in everyday life without losing substance.

The cut is based on classic umpire trousers: more volume in the hip area, functionally designed, with a clear taper to the hem. The waistband is elastic and can also be adjusted with a drawstring, allowing for a flexible fit.
