The "SD-1008 Jeans" by Studio D'Artisan is made from a unique Japanese Crafted from GL3 15oz selvedge denim with a slub texture, the finish remains true to traditional craftsmanship, while the fit is modern and contemporary in a relaxed tapered fit. A perfect blend in rich indigo!
The GL3 loom, developed by Toyota over 50 years ago, was Japan's first mechanical loom and is truly unique today. Since spare parts are no longer produced, it is now powered exclusively by reused components from decommissioned machines—a laborious and slow process. The GL3 weaves only about 5 meters of denim per hour, making the fabric a true classic with its distinctive, irregular texture and authentic vintage character—precisely what defines workwear denim.
Note: The jeans run about two sizes smaller – W34 therefore corresponds to a regular W32.
