Since the 1970s, the brand has been producing faithful replicas of classic rayon aloha shirts from the 1930s to the 1950s – based on historical models that have been meticulously collected and analyzed.

This special edition is titled "偐紫田舎源氏" —based on a work by ukiyo-e master Tsukioka Yoshitoshi. The scene is taken from a popular 19th-century novel: A pair of lovers seek refuge in a temple until a mother disguised as a demon appears from the smoke and attacks. The front of the shirt depicts the dramatic moment of her appearance, while the back depicts her disappearance into the smoke.
