The "SS79570 T-Shirt Sailor by Ryohei Yanagihara with MOOKIE" from SUN SURF brings a true cult figure back to the chest: Uncle Tris – created by legendary Japanese illustrator Ryohei Yanagihara, who not only shaped the "Let's go to Hawaii" advertising campaign with his work in the 1960s, but also created his very own, charming image of Hawaii.

The new motif is by Mookie Sato, the only artist officially authorized to work with Yanagihara's designs. As a longtime SUN SURF collaborator and avowed fan, he perfectly captured the spirit of the character and refined it with great sensitivity.

The T-shirt itself? As usual, it's from Japan, made on vintage circular knitting machines—without side seams, with a soft feel and a comfortable fit. SUN SURF demonstrates once again how well graphics, history, and craftsmanship blend together.
