The Yatagarasu Selvedge from Naked & Famous is a 15oz Japanese selvedge denim with a distinctive character. It is inspired by the Yatagarasu, the mythical three-legged crow from Shinto tradition, which is considered the god of leadership.
The warp is dyed sulfur black, giving the fabric a deep, rich tone from the start. As it is worn, the white of the weft thread gradually emerges, creating striking, contrasting fades that give each pair its own unique character.
The denim is produced on classic shuttle looms, giving it density, substance, and a tangible depth. Details such as tonal stitching, black pocket pockets, pink selvedge ID, and black copper rivets complete the look. On the back: a natural leather patch with a black metallic foil print – designed by Canadian artist Jacqui Oakley.
“True Guy” features a slim silhouette that fits loosely at the waist and hips and is tapered from the knee down.
Material note: The denim is quite stiff at first – don't worry, after a few washes it will become significantly softer and really comfortable to wear.
