The "Washer Herringbone Check Western Shirt" by Sugar Cane draws on the work shirts of American ranchers from the 1950s and 60s and translates them into a unique Japanese version.

Made from a herringbone-woven check fabric, the shirt has a soft, worn-in feel right from the start. The wash gives the material a lively, slightly faded look, close to what you usually only see in old vintage finds.

The Western DNA is evident in the details: continuous snap buttons, originally designed to release quickly in an emergency – for example, if the shirt gets caught on equipment or horns.

Beneath the surface, it gets technical: The seams are constructed with robust chain stitching, which gives the shirt additional stability and simultaneously creates that slightly uneven seam look known from old work shirts.
