The "SC51947 14.25oz. Denim 1947 Model Shorts" by Sugar Cane are based on the brand's own "1947 Model" and take up the construction of American five-pocket jeans from the late 1940s. For the shorts, Sugar Cane adopts the denim, processing, and details of the original, transferring the construction to a shorter leg length.

The shorts are made from a 14.25oz heavy Japanese selvedge denim of cotton. The weave and coloring are based on post-war denim fabrics, with indigo-dyed warp and a lighter core of the cotton fibers. This creates the typical aging process of classic jeans: the surface breaks open over time, while creases, seams, and stressed areas develop their own color gradient.

The features follow historical denim constructions: iron buttons with original embossing, a coin pocket with a visible selvedge edge, copper rivets at stress points, and concealed rivets on the back pockets. These details in early jeans not only served an aesthetic purpose but also reinforced the heavily used areas of the trousers.
