The "D1904 Futa-Ai" jeans from STUDIO D'ARTISAN are based on the traditional Japanese Futa-ai dyeing technique (Two-Indigo), which has been used since the Heian period. In this process, indigo is combined with other natural dyes and built up in several layers, giving the denim a deep, slightly nuanced color effect.
The jeans are made from 16oz Right-Hand-Twill Selvedge Denim, woven on classic old power looms in Japan. The blend of indigo and other dyes creates a complex, dark base color with subtle changes as it's worn.
The fit is a classic Regular Straight: mid-rise, balanced volume in the thigh, and a straight leg without strong tapering. A stable, timeless silhouette that is based on traditional jeans shapes.
