Jelado's "41 Khaki Last Resort Chino" takes its cue from the legendary US Army M-41 Khakis—the trousers worn as standard issue in the early 1940s and still considered the blueprint for classic chinos today.
Jelado goes further than a mere reissue. For development, original deadstock M41 trousers were analyzed and meticulously disassembled. Yarn thickness, twist, irregular structure, weave pattern, and color tone were recreated as closely as possible to the historical originals.
The fabric is made from American cotton from the Southern states and woven on traditional shuttle looms. It is dyed with sulfur dyes—a process already used back then for durable workwear and military clothing. The surface changes with every wear and wash, becoming more vibrant and gaining depth.
Jelado also stays true to the original in terms of finishing: offset belt loops, narrow double-welted back pockets, and pocket bags made from the same chino fabric instead of lighter lining material.
The fit is deliberately classic: high rise, plenty of room in the thigh, straight leg. A silhouette known from early military chinos.
