491J Coverall Indigo

The “JP94491J Coverall” by Jelado draws from Lee workwear of the late 1930s to early 1940s. Rather than adopting individual details, the garment was studied as a complete system and reconstructed through its proportions, pocket layout, and metal hardware.

At its core is the specially developed 10.5oz LASTRESORT Denim. For its creation, original coveralls from the period were examined with a focus on yarn thickness, weave structure, and the natural aging behaviour of early workwear fabrics. Variations in yarn weight create a lively, slightly irregular texture that already gives the fabric depth and movement in its raw state. The deep indigo serves as the starting point for its future evolution.

The images shown in the shop of a historical Lee coverall serve as a reference for this era and clearly highlight the constructional closeness to the original. At the same time, they show how the LASTRESORT denim evolves over the years – from early fading at the edges to strong contrasts and authentic wear developed through consistent use.
