60s Type III Jacket

The "60's Jacket" by TCB takes inspiration from the early Type III denim jackets of the 1960s – the next evolutionary stage after Type I and Type II. With its distinctive chest pockets, characteristic knife pleats, and a slimmer, more form-fitting silhouette, this construction became the defining denim jacket style for decades to come. TCB bases its design on its own vintage original, translating its proportions and details with contemporary Japanese manufacturing.

For this purpose, TCB develops its own 13 oz selvedge denim made from 100% San Joaquin Cotton from California. The bluer indigo tone, pronounced slubiness, and slightly hairy surface reflect typical characteristics of early 60s denim. With wear, the fabric develops a striking, individual fade structure.

The jacket is manufactured in Kojima, Okayama, using 20 count core-spun thread. The chainstitch seams are created on Union Special machines; the back of the chest pocket flaps is reinforced with lightweight denim. The handmade paper patch and the indigo-dyed back tab continue the vintage-inspired construction down to the smallest detail.
