The "60's Jacket" by TCB reconstructs a trucker jacket from the early 1960s. This model belongs to the Type III construction, which differs from earlier Type I and Type II jackets by its silhouette that tapers more towards the body. TCB manufactures in Kojima, Okayama, the center of Japanese denim production.
The 13oz selvedge denim made from San Joaquin cotton has a bluish indigo hue, a pronounced slubbiness, and a slightly hairy surface. This irregular texture changes with wear, gradually developing a unique fade pattern.
It is sewn with Core-Spun thread of strength 20; Union Special machines are used for the chain stitch seams. The front pocket flaps are reinforced on the back with lightweight denim. TCB also incorporates details from historical models for the paper patch: It is applied by hand and deliberately positioned slightly off-center.
The back tab on the rear waistband in the current version is indigo-dyed and replaces the original red tab. The jacket is one-wash, meaning it has already been washed once.
