The "Avoriaz/Jannu" by Paraboot traces its roots back to a classic mountain boot and was originally developed for technical use. The model is inspired by the mountain and approach marches of the 1960s and 1980s. Today, Paraboot reinterprets the mountain boot as a lower-cut version intended for everyday urban wear, while retaining the traditional last shape with a rounded toe.
The Avoriaz has its roots with Galibier, a French brand that originally developed the boot for mountaineers in the 1930s. Paraboot brought the model back from the archives in the 1990s and continues to carry on the characteristic construction features of the historic mountain boot to this day.
The Avoriaz is crafted using the Norwegian welt construction. In this traditional method, the upper is joined to the sole via a visible seam. This robust construction creates an effective barrier against cold and moisture—qualities that were originally essential for use in the mountains.
The black "Lisse Noir" Avoriaz is equipped with a leather lining and a natural rubber sole. The shoe is entirely manufactured in France.
