The "N-1 Deck Jacket" was originally developed for the US Navy in the 1940s. The characteristic alpaca lining serves as an incredibly effective insulator and has the unique property of keeping you warm even when wet. The super-tightly woven cotton fabric "Jungle Cloth" offers a rain and wind-repellent function. Buzz Rickson's replica is so close to the original that differences are hardly noticeable. The first versions of the N-1 were produced in navy blue, but only for a short time and in small quantities.
