The "Classic Bedale Wax Olive" by BARBOUR was originally developed for equestrian sports in 1980. The shorter cut offers greater freedom of movement in the saddle and remains one of the Bedale's characteristic features to this day. It is made from Barbour's 6oz Sylkoil, a medium-weight waxed cotton with a distinctly matte finish.
Classic features include a corduroy collar that can be turned up in bad weather, a two-way zip with a snap placket, two generous bellows pockets and two moleskin-lined handwarmer pockets. The original Classic Tartan is used for the lining, while ribbed cuffs finish the sleeves. The Bedale is still made today at Barbour's own production facility in South Shields.
