The "Coppola Boot" by Chico Imrie is an exclusive development for Burg & Schild — created in close collaboration with Julian Imrie.

While rooted in the visual language of early 20th-century service boots, the Coppola is not a reproduction. Instead, it reflects Imrie’s ongoing exploration of form, fit, and function — informed by decades of studying historical footwear and refining his own lasts.

At its core is the 320 last, hand-developed by Imrie. The shape is defined by a slightly elongated silhouette, a balanced toe profile, and a natural alignment that supports the foot rather than restricting it. Subtle anatomical considerations — such as a straight inner line and structured support through the heel — give the boot its distinctive feel on foot.

The upper is made from Culatta di Cavallo — a dense horse leather taken from the hindquarters of the hide. Compared to standard cowhide, it offers a tighter fibre structure and a more dynamic ageing process. With wear, the surface develops character through movement: creasing, shifting tones, and a depth that evolves over time rather than wearing evenly.

Construction follows a traditional Goodyear welted process, combined with a considered balance of materials. A leather midsole provides structure, while the AIRBORNE Gripflex sole adds durability and everyday usability without compromising the overall look.

Each pair is produced in small quantities in Italy, with a focus on precision, consistency, and long-term wear.
