The "Donkey Puncher Boot" by John Lofgren is manufactured to the highest standards in Japan and offers first-class workmanship and comfort.
The Ezo-Shika leather used comes from deer that live in the harsh, snowy landscape of Hokkaido. These animals are used to extreme conditions and have developed remarkable resilience over the centuries. The leather they leave behind carries this history within it - it is strong, authentic and thrives on its naturalness. The Ainu used to value it as a vital raw material for clothing and equipment, and it is still used today in traditional Japanese martial arts.
John Lofgren uses this exceptional leather in two layers for his boots: the inner, oiled layer provides comfort, while the outer layer is waxed and polished to give a unique patina with time and use. This leather is as nature intended it to be: pristine and full of character. It tells a story of durability, wildness and the value that true craftsmanship can appreciate.
