The "Engineer Boot 2005 Nero Tea Core Vacchetta Lucida" from Viberg takes on the classic form of the Engineer Boot, originally developed for workers in fields such as railways and industry. The unadorned construction with a high shaft, pull-on design, and stable silhouette follows the early work boots of the 20th century, where protection and durability were paramount.
The boot is made from Maryam Horsebutt Teacore leather from the Italian tannery Maryam. Horsebutt comes from the particularly dense area of horsehide and has a firm fiber structure with little stretch. In Teacore dyeing, a dark shade is applied over a lighter leather core, so that over time, through creasing and abrasion, the underlying color becomes visible. This allows the leather to develop a distinct patina that is strongly influenced by wear.
The striking Horsebutt leather meets Viberg's classic Engineer Boot construction here. The Dr. Sole Half Sole provides a grippy, everyday-suitable sole construction, while the minimalist design focuses on material and craftsmanship.
