The "Fargo Trucker Gunpowder" by Indigofera is one of the oldest models from the Swedish label, founded in Stockholm in 2009, and has been part of the brand's collection since its early days. The cut combines the silhouette of a barn coat with that of a classic trucker jacket – a hybrid form that dates back to the workwear and Western clothing of the American West in the 1950s.
Indigofera's 14oz Gunpowder Denim is used, a selvedge fabric woven exclusively for the label in Japan's Nihon Menpu factory. Instead of indigo, the yarns are sulphur-dyed – the dye penetrates the fiber similarly superficially to indigo, but here results in a deep black instead of blue. Over time, the dye rubs off on edges and folds, revealing light, grey-silvery contrasts – so the fabric fades much like an indigo denim, but in a different color palette.
The jacket is unlined, allowing it to be worn either as an overshirt or as a jacket. Two chest pockets and two side pockets are located under a straight yoke, copper rivets secure the seams, and the placket closes with Indigofera's own brass snap buttons.
