Fargo Trucker Gunpowder

The "Fargo Trucker Gunpowder" by Indigofera is one of the oldest models from the Swedish label founded in Stockholm in 2009 and has been part of the collection since the brand's early days. The cut combines the silhouette of a barn coat with that of a classic trucker jacket – a hybrid that traces back to the workwear and Western clothing of the American West in the 1950s.

It is crafted from Indigofera's 14oz Gunpowder denim, a selvedge fabric woven specifically for the label at the Japanese Nihon Menpu mill. Instead of indigo, the yarns are sulphur-dyed; the dye penetrates the fiber surface in a similar way to indigo, but results in a deep black rather than blue. Over time, the color rubs off at edges and creases, revealing bright, greyish-silver contrasts – the fabric fades much like indigo denim, just in a different color palette.

The jacket is unlined, allowing it to be worn as either an overshirt or a jacket. Two chest pockets and two side handwarmer pockets are positioned below a straight yoke, copper rivets reinforce stress points, and the button placket features Indigofera's custom brass snap buttons.
