The "G9 Harrington Jacket" by BARACUTA was originally developed in England in 1937 for golf – a short cut that allowed sufficient freedom of movement for the swing while protecting against wind and light rain. From the 1950s onwards, the jacket found its way into everyday wardrobes and became a staple in the wardrobes of Mods and Skinheads in Great Britain. Appearances in cinema and wearers like Steve McQueen and Frank Sinatra made the cut known beyond the island, which is why numerous other manufacturers adopted it in the following decades – Baracuta itself was the first to design the model.
This version is made of soft goat suede, which adapts smoothly to movement and develops an even patina over time. Inside, the Fraser Tartan lining made of Coolmax® cotton ensures air circulation, so that the leather does not become stuffy.
The dog-ear collar with double button fastening can be turned up and closed, the umbrella back yoke wicks moisture away from the back, and the raglan sleeves ensure freedom of movement in the shoulder area. Slanted front pockets with flap and button, a two-way zipper with logo, and ribbed cuffs, waistband, and inner collar keep the wind out.
