This "Indigo Bandana" from Kobashi Studio is made from Banshu-ori, a traditional fabric from Hyogo, Japan, with over 230 years of history. The 100% cotton fabric is exceptionally soft, absorbent, and displays a fine, vibrant texture.

It is dyed with natural indigo from a historic denim manufacturer in Hiroshima (founded in 1893). The pattern is created using traditional discharge-dye techniques: color is carefully removed by hand using stencils.

Both the dyeing and the manufacturing are carried out by a family-run business in Tochigi (since 1886), which sews each piece with the utmost care.

The design: inspired by classic chrysanthemum kimonos, given a modern interpretation by Junichi Kobashi. Thanks to natural indigo dyeing, the bandana develops a unique patina over time and becomes even more distinctive with each wear.
