The "JM Mohair Cardigan" by The Real McCoy’s revisits a 1990s classic – the piece that became a symbol of nonchalance and attitude through Kurt Cobain. But its roots go deeper: In the 50s and 60s, jazz musicians and mods wore it as part of a quiet rebellion – soft, light, but full of character.
While conventional mohair cardigans usually use a synthetic core of nylon or polyester, The Real McCoy’s deliberately opts for natural fibers: The mohair yarn is spun around a wool core yarn – denser, warmer, and with more structure.
The finish is not created by machine, but by hand: Each cardigan is individually brushed on a roller machine until the surface shows this lively, slightly irregular fuzz.
