Late 40's Type I Jacket Black

TCB's "Late S40's Jacket" is based on an original Type I denim jacket from the late 1940s. TCB meticulously studied the historical model and largely retained the characteristic proportions of these late S40's designs. The jacket is manufactured in Kojima, Okayama, the heart of Japanese denim production.

This Black x Black version features 14 oz heavy Japanese selvedge denim. Different yarn thicknesses create the irregular texture and lively surface of the fabric. With wear, the black denim develops its own patina, lightening over time towards anthracite and silver.

The silhouette closely follows the historical original: wide shoulders, a short torso length, and a boxy cut. The shoulder area and the armhole attachment were also not altered for a more modern fit. This creates the typical, compact proportion of a late S40's jacket.

Characteristic details include the pleats on the front, the single chest pocket construction, iron buttons, visible copper rivets, and the cinch-back. The jacket is one-wash, meaning it has already been washed once.
