The "Late S40's Jeans" by TCB reconstructs a pair of jeans from the second half of the 1940s and is based on a vintage original. They are crafted in Kojima, Okayama, the center of Japanese denim production.

For the 13.5oz selvedge denim, TCB has developed a yarn construction that replicates the irregular texture and characteristic fading of vintage jeans. The warp uses two different types of slub yarn: a longer, softer 7.5 count yarn and a shorter, stronger 6.5 count yarn. The weft uses a 6 count yarn with a much more subtle slub structure. The varying yarn thicknesses ensure that the denim ages differently as it is worn, developing a high-contrast, lively fade.
