The "VS-200L BROWN LEATHER DUFFLE BAG" from VASCO is a modern interpretation of the so-called Bon Sac – an elongated, tubular bag that, according to the manufacturer, was used by US and European Marines for personal belongings. The model features a spacious main compartment that can also be accessed via a side zipper. A detachable shoulder strap allows it to be carried over the shoulder, while the bag can also be carried by hand as a duffle bag.
VASCO's characteristic "OLD OIL" cowhide leather from Himeji is used. The full vegetable-tanned leather is hand-dyed using the traditional Oka-Zome technique and then subjected to a combination of Kogashi and oil processing. This creates the irregular surface with a vintage-like character typical of the OLD OIL series. With use, the leather develops an individual patina over time and gains depth and luster.
The interior is lined with robust cotton canvas. A WALDES zipper is used for the closure, while the fittings are made of solid brass. With dimensions of 27 × 55 × 27 cm, the bag offers sufficient volume for shorter trips and can be carried compactly thanks to its elongated shape.
The historical reference to Bon Sacs used by US and European Marines is based on manufacturer/dealer information and could not be independently verified.
