The "Leather Travel Boston Bag" by VASCO is a reinterpretation of classic Boston University student bags from the early 1900s. A time when robust leather luggage was not only functional, but also an expression of attitude and a sense of new beginnings.

The backpack is crafted in small workshops in Tokyo. It is made from fully vegetable-tanned Kip leather from Himeji, Japan – a region with a centuries-old tanning tradition. The leather is hand-dyed layer by layer using the traditional Oka-Zome (hill-dyeing) technique, resulting in depth and subtle color nuances. This is followed by an oil and kogashi treatment, which further refines the surface and creates a characteristic, slightly vintage-style patina.

Each bag is individually stamped with an antique letterpress stamp and bears the embossing “BLW” – Baggage Load Wanderlust .
