LK-003 Engineer Boots Ezo Shika Deerskin Burgundy

The "LK-003 Engineer Boots Ezo Shika Deerskin" have been among John Lofgren Bootmaker's most renowned models for years. They are based on original engineer boots from the 1940s and 1950s, which John collected and analyzed over many years. Every angle, every line, and every detail has been repeatedly revised until the characteristic silhouette, for which the LK-003 is now known, emerged.

For this version, John Lofgren uses an extraordinary leather from Japan: Ezo-Shika deerskin from the northern island of Hokkaido. The wild deer living there are exposed to the long winters and harsh climate of the region. The result is a resilient leather with a vibrant, natural texture that varies from hide to hide.

The construction consists of two layers of deerskin. The interior uses oiled Ezo-Shika leather, while the exterior has a waxed and burnished finish. Since the hides are not artificially corrected, grain, small traces of the natural habitat, and individual characteristics remain visible. This is precisely what gives each pair its unique character.

Over time, the surface changes in a special way. The wax works its way in with movement and use, the burnishing effects develop additional depth, and the leather gains more and more expression. No two pairs age exactly alike.

The boots are entirely made in Japan with the consistency expected from John Lofgren. From the fit to the craftsmanship and material selection, every detail has been designed to create an engineer boot that will not lose its appeal even after many years.
