The "LK-042 US Navy N-1 Field Shoes Boondockers" by John Lofgren are a detailed homage to the legendary N-1 Field Shoes of the US Navy from World War II. From 1943 onwards, they served sailors and Marines in the Pacific – robust, versatile and made for tough conditions.
The name "Boondocker" comes from the Tagalog word "bundok" ( mountain, remote terrain ). American soldiers adopted the term during their deployment in the Philippines – fitting for these indestructible field boots.
Today's John Lofgren version remains true to the historical original, combining it with uncompromising Japanese craftsmanship. Made in Japan, the Boondockers are crafted from Horween roughout leather, feature lacquered brass eyelets, and boast authentic proportions. The last is based on an original pair of historical Boondockers. The soles and heels are also JL Bootmaker's own designs, styled after the WWII originals, and are produced in Japan.
The result is a boot that combines history and quality – and carries on the distinctive character of the iconic N-1 Field Shoes to this day.
