John Lofgren's "LK-042 US Navy N-1 Field Shoes Boondockers" are a detailed homage to the legendary U.S. Navy N-1 Field Shoes from World War II. From 1943, they served sailors and marines in the Pacific – robust, versatile, and made for tough operations.
The name "Boondocker" comes from the Tagalog word "bundok" (mountain, remote area). American soldiers adopted the term during their deployment in the Philippines – fitting for these indestructible field boots.
Today's version by John Lofgren stays true to the historical original and combines it with uncompromising Japanese craftsmanship. Made in Japan, the Boondockers are crafted from Horween Roughout leather, feature lacquered brass eyelets, and authentic proportions. The last is based on an original pair of historical Boondockers. The soles and heels are also JL Bootmaker in-house developments in the style of the WWII originals and are produced in Japan.
The result is a boot that combines history and quality – and continues the distinctive character of the iconic N-1 Field Shoes to this day.
