Lot. 001XXJ Early Model Light Wash

The "MJ26012 Lot. 001XXJ Early Model Light Wash" by THE REAL McCOY'S follows the earliest form of the American denim jacket, as it emerged from 1905 onwards as workwear for cowboys, miners, and railway workers. This earliest version – often referred to by collectors as the "Early Model" or "Type I" – was deliberately minimalist in design: a single chest pocket, a loosely cut torso, and a cinch-back for adjusting the width, instead of the later common two chest pockets and side adjustment tabs.

It is made from 13.25oz Japanese selvedge denim, the same as in the identically named Lot. 001XX jeans of this wash. Stonewashing and manual abrasion treatment deliberately remove color from the indigo, creating the light, already worn-in look of the light-wash version without the fabric losing stability.

The button placket instead of a zipper and the cinch-back consistently follow the historical model, complemented by copper rivets at stress points and a leather patch on the waistband.
