The "MC26002 Shorts Norfolk Recreation" by The Real McCoy's is inspired by the athletic wear of American colleges, boxing clubs, and athletic programs from the 1930s to the 1950s. The Joe McCoy line is dedicated to these early forms of sportswear – functional, minimalist, and designed for everyday use.
The shorts are made from heavy cotton sweat fabric, produced in Japan on sinker knitting machines. The dense knit structure provides a firm hand, a compact surface, and high dimensional stability. Over time, the fabric becomes softer without losing its substance.
The relaxed fit, elastic waistband, and clean construction reflect classic training pants of the era. The "Norfolk Recreation" print refers to the typography of early sports clubs and recreational facilities, as found on team wear and athletic clothing from the first half of the 20th century.
