The " of Hollywood Trading Company adopts the language of American leatherwork from the 1930s to the 1950s. These belts originated in the context of motorcycle and Western culture, often made in small workshops and individually embellished with rivet and material patterns. The so-called "Peanut" construction is one of the recurring layouts of this era and describes the oval, rhythmically placed arrangement of metal fittings along the strap.
The base is a sturdy cattlehide leather strap, which serves as a carrier for the hand-set metal studs. The individual elements are set by hand, which can lead to small deviations. In the variant used here, snakeskin patches are integrated into the stud pattern. The snakeskin is not a flat top layer but is integrated into the belt's structure, breaking the calm leather surface with its fine, irregular texture.
