True Guy Guardian 2 Selvedge Indigo

The "True Guy Guardian 2 Selvedge" from Naked & Famous Denim features a yarn with a history. 1965, DuPont Lab: Chemist Stephanie Kwolek is searching for a light fiber to replace steel in car tires. Instead of a clear polymer solution, she holds a cloudy, thin liquid in her hand – material that is usually discarded. She has it spun anyway. The result: a fiber with exceptional tensile strength. Kevlar® is born – today found in bulletproof vests, aircraft parts, and high-performance applications.

This exact yarn is found in the Guardian 2: 80% cotton, 20% Kevlar®, woven into 14.25oz denim on the shuttle loom – hence the narrow, self-edged selvedge. The warp is classically rope-dyed strand by strand in indigo and breaks open with wear exactly where the jeans are most moved. In the weft, the undyed Kevlar® yarn remains visible – a slight yellow tint that shows what this fabric is truly made of.

"True Guy" comes in a casual straight fit that offers extra room in the seat and thigh and falls straight from the knee to the hem.
