The "MJ26007 Type L-2B Voodoo" is The Real McCoy’s interpretation of the classic Type L-2B Flight Jacket – one of the first true light-zone flight jackets of the U.S. Air Force from the 1950s. Developed for warmer climates, the L-2B marks the transition from heavy flight jackets to functional, lightweight nylon constructions of modern military apparel.

After the Korean War, the original Air Force Blue color was replaced in favor of the characteristic Sage Green – a decision that improved both camouflage and everyday usability. Simultaneously, the jacket was designed to be lighter and remained in active service until the late 1970s. Thus, it is considered a historical link between early nylon flight jackets and later models such as the MA-1.

The "Voodoo" version takes this functional origin and complements it with individual elements, as found on original flight jackets. The attached patches – including references to the McDonnell F-101 Voodoo – are based on pieces personalized by their wearers. Such customizations were part of the living military culture: jackets were used to make affiliations, deployments, or personal connections visible.
