THE REAL McCOY'S "MC22109 U.S. Army Military Thermal Shirt" is based on thermal undershirts issued to U.S. soldiers in the 1970s for use in extreme cold conditions.

It is made from 100% cotton honeycomb knit: The honeycomb structure features small raised areas that trap air, explaining the insulating effect of the knit. The yarn is comparatively robustly spun, which means the stitches remain firm and dimensionally stable despite the open structure. Compared to the original military version, the yarn thickness has been maintained, but the knitting density has been reduced – this makes the fabric noticeably more elastic and comfortable on the skin without losing thermal performance.

Cuffs and neckline are rib-knitted, which ensures the shirt fits snugly against the body and prevents it from slipping under other clothing.
