The "Weird Guy Foxfibre Green Weft" from Naked & Famous Denim uses FoxFibre®, a naturally colored cotton, for the weft. Its origins date back to the 1980s, when Sally Fox began breeding naturally pigmented cotton varieties to create fabrics that require no chemical dyes. Green FoxFibre® is the most demanding variety—short-staple, low-yield, and difficult to spin consistently, making its availability correspondingly limited. The cotton is sourced from the USA, and the yarn is spun in Osaka.
The denim is woven in Japan from 13 oz, 100% organic cotton. The warp is rope-dyed in indigo, while the weft is iron-mordanted: the iron reacts with the pigment naturally present in the fiber, darkening it to a green-grey. As the jeans are worn, the indigo fades in high-stress areas, while the green-grey tone gains intensity over time and with washing.
The Weird Guy is a classic tapered fit with a mid-rise, sitting close to the body at the hips and thighs and tapering evenly from the knee to the hem. It closes with a button fly.
