The black “M-65 Field Jacket” from the William Gibson x Buzz Rickson's collection is based on the legendary M-65, which was created in 1965 as a result of continuous development of the M-41 introduced during World War II.
It became famous thanks to Robert de Niro, who wore it in Martin Scorsese's film Taxi Driver , making it a style icon. The M-65 still impresses today with its timeless cut, comfortable fit and remarkable durability. But it is above all the excellent workmanship and authentic materials that keep it so close to the original - a true masterpiece of jacket culture.
The idea for an all-black collection was inspired by Buzz Rickson's fictional black MA-1 jacket, which the science fiction author designed for his protagonist in his book "Pattern Recognition". Buzz Rickson's brought the never-before-seen jacket to life and thus laid the foundation for the unique militaria collaboration "Type Black".
