Black version of the "M-65 Parka" from the Buzz Rickson's x William Gibson collection , which was introduced in 1965 for the American armed forces as an improved version of its predecessor, the "M-51". True to its predecessor, it features the iconic "fishtail" and the characteristic wide silhouette. Advantageous differences can be found primarily in the choice of materials. A thick satin fabric was used for the "M-51", while a light, quick -drying and robust Oxford fabric made of cotton and nylon was used for the "M-65 " parka. The idea for an all-black collection came from a fictional black MA-1 jacket by Buzz Rickson's, which the science fiction author designed for his protagonist in his book "Pattern Recognition". Buzz Rickson's brought the never-before-seen jacket to life and laid the foundation for the unique "Type Black" militaria cooperation.
