In 1957, the US Air Force's MA-1 flight jacket was introduced as a direct successor to the modified B-15D flight jacket of 1957. Based on the early classic, the "BR14965 MA-1 Jacket Slender Regular" is made of heavy, water and wind-repellent nylon twill fabric and lined with wool fibers. In addition to the exceptionally good workmanship and the specially selected, very true-to-the-original materials, the jacket impresses with a contemporary slim silhouette with an authentically short cut. As part of the Buzz Rickson's x William Gibson collection, it is not made in "Sage Green" like the original, but in deep black: The idea for an all-black collection came from a fictional black MA-1 jacket by Buzz Rickson's, which the science fiction author designed for his protagonist in his book "Pattern Recognition". Buzz Rickson's brought the never-before-seen jacket to life and laid the foundation for the unique militaria collaboration "Type Black".
